Progresif Sdn Bhd signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Brunei Cyber Security Association (BCSA) to formalize a strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening cyber resilience in Brunei Darussalam. The ceremony was held at the CySec Conference at the Rizquin International hotel on 15th September.

Under the MoU, Progresif will extend the value of its Advanced Security Operations Centre (SOC) capabilities by providing Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) reports to BCSA. These reports are designed to support BCSA’s executive members in advancing cyber vigilance, gaining deeper insights into global and regional threats, and fostering stronger community engagement in cybersecurity.

This initiative marks an important step in advancing Progresif’s role in the national cybersecurity ecosystem. By sharing actionable threat intelligence with BCSA, Progresif seeks to broaden the reach and influence of its SOC capabilities across enterprises and the national cybersecurity community, with BCSA serving as a key partner in connecting with critical stakeholders.

“This partnership is a testament to Progresif’s unwavering commitment to Brunei Darussalam’s national cybersecurity objectives and the vision set forth in the Brunei National Cybersecurity Strategy (BNCS). Through our collaboration with BCSA, we are not only extending the reach of our SOC capabilities but also strengthening the nation’s capacity to safeguard against emerging threats. By providing BCSA stakeholders and executive members with exclusive intelligence needed to anticipate, prepare for, and respond to the cybersecurity challenges of tomorrow, we are empowering enterprises and critical sectors to build resilience and foster trust. This collaboration also paves the way for greater strategic partnerships within the BCSA ecosystem, connecting current and future members to meaningful cybersecurity initiatives. Together, we are shaping a safer digital ecosystem and supporting Brunei’s journey towards a secure and resilient digital future", said Muhammad Fahmi Bin Mahusin, Vice President at Progresif Sdn Bhd.

In line with the signing, Fahmi Progresif’s Vice President for Enterprise, delivered a workshop session for attendees at the BCSA Cybersecurity Workshop held on 16 September. His presentation, titled “Harmonisation of AI and Automation with Human Expertise: Addressing Shared Challenges and Advancing Brunei’s Vision of a Cyber-Smart Society,” will explore how advanced technologies combined with human insight can create a stronger, more adaptive cybersecurity posture. Fahmi will highlight the importance of collaborative intelligence, innovation, and skilled professionals in safeguarding Brunei’s digital landscape, underscoring Progresif’s commitment to building resilience across enterprises, government agencies, and the wider community.

Progresif is an Executive Member of BCSA and has been an active supporter of the association’s initiatives since its inception, including the inaugural CySec Conference in 2023. Over the years, Progresif has collaborated with BCSA through awareness campaigns, partnerships in flagship events such as Women in Cyber and Cyber Battle, knowledge-sharing sessions, and industry engagement activities. These efforts reflect Progresif’s sustained commitment to fostering longterm strategic initiatives and capacity-building for Brunei’s cybersecurity ecosystem. This MoU marks the next step in deepening that collaboration and advancing BCSA’s mission to strengthen national cyber resilience.

The flagship event CySec 2025 gathers cybersecurity experts, industry leaders, policymakers, academics, and technology innovators to share insights, explore emerging threats, and champion a culture of cyber awareness and digital resilience. The 3rd Cyber Security Conference in Brunei aims to serve as a premier platform for advancing cybersecurity knowledge, fostering regional collaboration, and empowering individuals and organizations to take an active role in building a
secure, cyber-smart society.

Cybersecurity has emerged as a crucial component of individual, organizational, and national resilience in the current highly connected digital era. As cyber threats continue to grow in sophistication and scale, it is no longer sufficient to rely on traditional defense mechanisms. Instead, there is an urgent need to adopt a proactive, informed, and collaborative approach to cybersecurity.
