Premiere Screening of Prince Azim – Son of the Arts

29 July 2021 – Hundreds of viewers thronged the Empire Times Cineplex yesterday evening, with all three premiere screenings of the documentary film Prince
Azim – Son of the Arts almost filled to its maximum capacity.

The documentary film was executive produced by His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Her Royal Highness Princess ‘Azemah Ni’matul Bolkiah binti His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah and Her Royal Highness Princess Fadzilah Lubabul Bolkiah binti His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah.

Directed by Sumardi Hedus of Relentless Entertainment, the documentary film depicts never seen before home video footage and inside interview from Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul Azim’s family, friends, and those lives he had touched and shared his passions with.

The premiere screening was attended, amongst others, by cabinet ministers, senior government officials, representatives from charity bodies, invited guests and members of the public.

The 90-minute documentary film will be screened on the 31st July and 1st August at the Empire, Tutong and KB Times Cineplex cinemas. Further screenings will be held at the Jerudong International School’s (JIS) Arts Centre on the 7th and 8th of August. Majority of the ticket proceeds will be donated to charities that the late prince worked closely with, namely Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam, Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Brunei (KACA), SMARTER Brunei and Yayasan Kanser Kanak-Kanak Brunei (YASKA).

The documentary film was written by local performing arts duo Sumardi Hedus and Amy Cheong of Relentless Entertainment and edited by Oddbox Pictures Sdn Bhd.

The documentary premiere was supported by Progresif Sdn Bhd (Progresif) as the appointed Marketing and Event Partner; Times Cineplex and JIS Arts Centre as the Venue Partner, and D’Sunlit Sdn Bhd and Aewon Brunei as the sponsors in-kind.
