Bandar Seri Begawan, 08 January 2025, Wednesday – “Cybersecurity threats are a growing concern for many countries as technology becomes more integrated into daily life and business operations. In Brunei, we have seen a rise in cybersecurity threats. Progresif, in partnership with ST Engineering, is ready to work with organizations to counter these threats by offering Security Operation Centre (SOC) services.”

This was highlighted by Hajah Nurul Haniah binti Haji Jaafar, Chief Executive Officer of Progresif Sdn Bhd, in her opening remarks during the Progresif Enterprise Showcase yesterday, held at Dewan Munawwarrah, Setia Point. Following the announcement of their partnership with ST Engineering last September, Hajah Nurul Haniah signaled that Progresif will pro-actively play a more central role in providing SOC services for the Brunei market and that they are open for business.

She added, “Securing networks and ensuring business continuity has never been more critical and Progresif will become central to the nation’s agenda in promoting the importance of cybersecurity in the digital landscape and to enhance the understanding and implementation of effective cybersecurity measures among local organizations.”

The Progresif Enterprise Showcase was officially launched by (Ir) Haji Mohammad bin Haji Nazri Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications and attended by over 200 guests from both the public and private sectors. The showcase aimed to present various enterprise solutions offered by Progresif. Other partners present included Huawei, Alibaba Cloud, Microsoft, UNN, ULAP, Netcom, POSx, Folec and the Brunei Cybersecurity Association (BCSA).

Mr Goh Eng Choon, President, Cyber, ST Engineering, added, " Partnering with Progresif is a strategic move to bolster Brunei's cybersecurity landscape. ST Engineering's cybersecurity practice, combined with Progresif's extensive experience across various sectors including telecommunications, banking and government in Brunei, will enable the development of AI-driven Security Operations Centre (SOC) services. These services aim to protect critical infrastructure, ensure business continuity and pave the way for a resilient digital transformation."

The Progresif Enterprise Showcase provided an opportunity for organizations in Brunei to get a first look at enterprise solutions offered by Progresif and their key partners. The showcase offered insights to other solutions such as cloud services, unified command solutions as well as productivity solutions for MSMEs.

Guests also had the opportunity to listen to key presentations presented by key partners including Huawei, Microsoft and Alibaba Cloud. The whole-day event ended with a panel discussion, titled “Digital Transformation: Lessons from Across Southeast Asia towards Cyber Resilience” followed by appreciation of Progresif’s key partners.
