Progresif Sdn Bhd has once again demonstrated its commitment to support the annual Social Kitchen Community initiative. The initiative, held at The Kitchen Table in Kiulap, aims to offer an opportunity for socio-economically challenged families, especially single mothers, to showcase their culinary skills by preparing and selling home-cooked meals at events or through donations. This not only provides meals for those in need but also creates new entrepreneurial opportunities, empowering individuals to make a positive impact on their own lives and others.
This year, with the help of Abdul Hakeem bin Haji Basir, Progresif’s Chief Legal & Compliance Officer, the Progresif senior management team, and staff packed 250 meals that were prepared and distributed towards the socio-economically challenged communities and migrant workers across Brunei Darussalam. The kitchen operations were headed by Miza Syahmeena binti Mohammad, Co Project Leader of Social Kitchen Community 1, and Hajah Nurul Izzati Khairunnisa binti Haji Embran, Co Project Leader of Social Kitchen Community 2.
In addition, Abdul Hakeem explained about Progresif’s internal campaign known as Recycle to Donate, held in February. The campaign saw Progresif staff collecting 745kg of recyclable materials, with the proceeds contributing to the Social Kitchen Community initiative. As a show of appreciation, Progresif presented plaques to Mohamad Anwar bin Haji Mohammad, the Chairman of Society for Community Outreach & Training (SCOT), and Lim Wee Ann, Director Manager of Kawan Bumi Sdn Bhd for partnering with Progresif in the program.
